Welcome To Rochester

Rochester is located in SE Minnesota and is home to the main Mayo Clinic campus. This thriving community is known for medical innovation and friendly midwestern hospitality. Attractions, theaters, restaurants, and entertainment options are located in the heart of the city with a multitude of options for everyone to enjoy. Travel

Rochester, Minnesota, is a friendly city that greets thousands of visitors from around the world each year with multiple flights daily via American Airlines and Delta. Access to and from the airport is available by taxi, shuttle service, and rental car. The airport is located approximately 10 miles from the heart of downtown Rochester.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is 90 minutes north of Rochester. Ground transportation is available between Minneapolis and many Rochester destinations, including Mayo Clinic. Visit the Rochester Convention and Visitor Bureau’s website for shuttle and taxi information.

* Note to Travelers: Several cities in the United States are named Rochester. When you make airline reservations and check your baggage, be sure that your destination is Rochester, Minnesota (RST) and that your baggage has been properly tagged.

Lodging

Guest rooms will be reserved for attendees at Vestibular Schwannoma Conference rates. We are currently working on securing these room blocks and rates with local hotels but you can expect rates will likely range between $120-$250 per night. Please check back at a later date for more information.


Things To Do

Rochester, MN is full of fun and interesting activities. But, what makes it unique is its history and well-maintained public spaces. During your stay we recommend that you tour a few of our beautiful sites.

The Mayowood Mansion tour is an excellent starting point for your visit. This magnificent estate was built by Dr. Charles H. Mayo in 1911 and since the late 60s has welcomed visitors from all over the world.

The Plummer House is an English Tudor mansion surrounded by scenic overlooks. This home was owned by a Mayo Clinic partner and subsequently donated by his family. The grounds include a beautiful botanical garden, views of Rochester, and stunning architecture.

The Plummer Building is located in downtown Rochester and showcases some of the state’s best classic architecture. Opened in 1927 this building features 4,000 pound bronze doors, a working bell tower, and gorgeous design details.

If you want to enjoy the outdoors, consider a visit to the Quarry Hill Nature Center. The center itself provides an excellent overview of the local ecosystem, but the real highlights are the beautiful trails, manicured parks, and glimpses of local wildlife.

For even more to do, visit Minneapolis and St. Paul. Just a short 90 minutes from Rochester, the Twin Cities provide many opportunities for fun and culture. Shop at the expansive Mall of America, enjoy the beautiful collection at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, or tour an exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Adventurous travelers can also explore a wealth of fascinating neighborhoods such as Uptown, Dinkytown, and Frogtown.

Ample parking is available in hotel, city, and Mayo patient/visitor ramps. The cost for parking is not included in the registration fee.
